Juniors Summer Camp - FULL of great learning, great training, great FUN! ! !

Last week Five Rings Jiu Jitsu hosted a week long Camp for Juniors ages 6 - 16 - and it ROCKED! ! !

Highlights:

- Over 18 campers participated in the week long camp
- 15 hours of instruction in one week
- Phenomenial learning curves and retention from the campers ... they really got after it. Extraordinary effort!
- everyone did amazingly well with the Figure 8 Pendullums ...

Two well deserved blue belts were earned last night, Tuesday, August 17, at Five Rings Jiu Jitsu in Portland, Oregon.

International Vegas Open - '10: Great Day of Jiu Jitsu for Five Rings

Five Rings went to participate in the IBJJF Vegas Open on August 14, 2010. Coach Tom Oberhue and Andreas Correa travelled to Las Vegas, to be sharpen their skills and get more tournament experience. Coach Tom had a great day - going 3 - 0 in the Black Belt / Senior 1 division - taking two gold metals. 

In match one, Leandro Valdes from Brasa. Tom worked his take-down setup for a couple of minutes before getting the match to the ground. Once hitting the ground, he worked to get his body onto his opponent and play a tight, tough top game.

On Tuesday, July 20, a series of long overdue promotions took place. HUGE CONGRATULATIONS to all the athletes.

Promotions are a sign of the learning / growing process. These guys are definitely growing their games!!

On Friday, June 25, Five Rings Jiu Jitsu and Fitness hosted our 1st Parents' Date Night / Ninja night.

It was an amazing night of learning, fun, and team work. An extended Jiu Jitsu class, a friendship tournament, Fitness Olympics, Pizza, and a Movie - The Karate Kid (the original). It was absolutely FANTASTIC! ! !

Big Thanks to all the grown-ups that supp...orted the event - Coach Eric, Jessica, my dad, Byron, Linnea and Jim Fettig ...

The Juniors' Summer Camp will be running the last full week of August - the 23rd - 27th.

It will be an action packed week of Jiu Jitsu - with over 15 hours of instruction.

Who can attend: boys and girls from the ages of 7 - 16
